In January of 1969, the Notre Dame Alumni Association established the “Alumni Club” on the side of what was then known as the McNamara house. In the early 1980’s, the old house was torn down and replaced with the existing building. Known as The Alumni Senior Club, and unofficially as Senior Bar, the facility served students until the fall of 2002, when it made its last call after 33 years.

Following an extensive renovation project, the building was reborn as Legends of Notre Dame. The expansion added 50% to the size of the building, providing 188 patrons in the restaurant section and more than 600 in the nightclub area. Established in 2003, Legends of Notre Dame Club has been providing the highest caliber of live music and entertainment from various genres and styles.
