Our History

In January of 1969, the Notre Dame Alumni Association established the “Alumni Club” on the side of what was then known as the McNamara house. In the early 1980’s, the old house was torn down and replaced with the existing building. Known as he Alumni Senior Club, an unofficially as Senior Bar, the facility served students until the fall of 2002, when it made its last call after 33 years. Following an extensive renovation project, the building was reborn as Legends of Notre Dame. The expeansion added 50% to the size of the building, providing 188 partorns in the restaurant section and more than 600 in the nightclub area.

Established in 2003, Legends of Notre Dame Nightclub has been providing the highest caliber of live music and entertainment from various genres and styles. Owned and operated by the University of Notre Dame, Legends offers the tri-campus community of Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s, and Holy Cross students free entertainment every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night during the academic year. Legends Nightclub has a high track record of bringing the most recent up and coming artists and comedians. Legends is also available for private events including full catering.
